This painting shows the setting sun with silhouetted Saguaro cactus in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona near Tucson. Orange sunset skies with purple clouds and distant mountains in the colorful desert of Arizona. 

The saguaro cactus is one of the defining plants of the Sonoran Desert. The arms of the saguaro generally bend upward towards the sky and can number over 25. Saguaros are covered with protective spines, white flowers in the late spring, and red fruit in summer. Saguaros are found exclusively in the Sonoran Desert in southern Arizona and western Sonora, Mexico.
